How would you manage waste water?

If further drilling or well testing occurs at Whicher Range, waste water could result from three sources:

  1. ‘Produced water’ which is a function of production of every conventional oil and gas reservoir. It is water (almost always saline and not suitable for human consumption) existing naturally within a hydrocarbon reservoir;
  2. Rain water that collects on the impervious (liquid tight) lease liner used during drilling and well testing operations; and
  3. ‘Grey or black water’ that results from personnel accommodation at site.

All produced water would be transferred to, and contained within, bunded tanks. As in the case for the Whicher Range #4 sidetrack well test, all waste water would be transferred to and treated at waste facilities, in accordance with an accepted Environment Plan.
