OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM
Mike has been on the board of CalEnergy Resources Ltd since 2002, and has previously acted as Company Secretary of group companies. Mike joined the FTSE listed Sovereign Oil & Gas plc in 1989, taking the lead of the financial accounting function. Through successive takeovers by Neste Oy, Northern Electric plc and MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company, Mike has developed expertise in most aspects of oil and gas and corporate finance and accounting.
Mike has undertaken the negotiation of a wide range of commercial and banking agreements as well as acting as asset manager for many of the company’s commercialised projects. There also has been significant experience gained in acquisition and disposal exercises.
Previous positions have included roles with IBM United Kingdom Ltd and with the then FTSE 100 listed companies Rexam plc and General Electric Company plc. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science from Bradford University and is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Business Manager – AUS BU
Travis joined CalEnergy as Business Manager for the Australian Business Unit in 2011 and is responsible for the stewardship of the Australian business and its performance (EHS, technical, commercial and financial). Prior to his role at CalEnergy, Travis worked in a variety of geotechnical, corporate and strategic roles in both operated and non-operated joint ventures at Woodside, Cooper Energy and Shell. Travis has been successful in identifying and securing new business opportunities, maturing discovered assets through intensive appraisal campaigns in support of final investment decisions both domestically and internationally.
Travis holds a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in geology from Flinders University, an Honours degree in petroleum geology and geophysics from the University of Adelaide, a Postgraduate Diploma in oil and gas engineering from the University of Western Australia, and is currently undertaking an MBA in international business.
UK & POLAND BUSIINESS UNIT MANAGER
Simon joined Calenergy in 2018, and is an oil and gas professional with 19 years of worldwide experience. His career has included working with companies including Ophir, Engie, Total and BP in roles within the UKCS as well as internationally focussed positions covering Equatorial Guinea, Libya, Indonesia, Mauritania and Malaysia. He has a proven track record of delivery in areas such as; Operated and non-operated Asset Management, Commercial negotiation, Reserves and Production Reporting, Strategy, Economic Evaluation and Internal and External Stakeholder management.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Science (Geoscience) Honours Degree from the University of St. Andrew’s and Masters of Science in Petroleum Geoscience (Geology) from Imperial college. Simon is also a certified Project Manager.
Dhiman came on board as Subsurface Manager with CalEnergy in 2018, and is the functional lead for all subsurface activities in the company. Prior to joining CalEnergy, he was the Geoscience Manager with E.ON E&P UK, and previously he has worked in a variety of asset and functional roles internationally with leading multinational Operator E&P companies across new ventures, exploration, appraisal and development.
Dhiman is a geoscientist by back ground, and takes a keen interest in technical assurance and due diligence. He has worked across variety of geological settings and has led and managed multi-disciplinary cross functional teams including mentoring of young professionals. He also has a rich experience in well site and operations geology and has delivered many E&A and development wells.
Dhiman holds a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Geology from Banaras Hindu University, India and dual Masters’ degree – Master of Science in Applied Geology and Master of Technology in Geo-Exploration from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai.
Rob has been with CalEnergy since 2004 and in his current role since 2011. Rob has more than 35 years’ experience in the upstream industry having started his career in 1977 with Amoco in their in-house seismic processing group. Rob is an interpretation geophysicist and has a breadth of experience in both technical and managerial roles including exploration projects in Gabon, field development expansion projects (Ninian, Indefatigable) and managing the company’s technical team through the initial UK Nelson Field Equity redetermination.
He has more than 25 years’ experience as an interpreter and asset manager in the Southern Permian Basin both in the UK and Poland. He was personally responsible for the identification of 4 UK Gas Fields, 3 of which are in production and the Platypus discovery in which the company owns a 15% equity stake and is under development. He was responsible for the company’s participation in the Polish Zaniemyśl-3 discovery well in 2004, which has been on production since 2006. He has managed four seismic acquisition programmes in Poland, and in 2011 managed the Kopeć well to a TD of over 2,000m for under £2m.
Rob has a BSc Hons in geology and computer science from London University.
